but it does not seem to snap closed tightly (not sure if it ever did

All of these signs of age in this case I think only contribute to the wonderful aura of this lovely little painting

Old Carving Knife old wooden hammer attached to the edgeI grabbed this knife, for carving I believe, out of an artist's studio at a recent estate sale just because I loved the look of it, with this long steel blade and worn wooden handle. It could use a little sharpening I think, but surely useful for all sorts of things. In well loved condition, with some paint on the wood and rust on the blade. 5 7 8" long x 5 8" wide x 1 2" deep.
