Although they are a blended malt, they use only Japanese single malts in their production and age the vast majority of their line up in coveted Japanese Mizunara oak casks. As is true for much of the Kaiyo line, the whisky for our new pick was filled into a Mizunara oak cask and loaded onto an ocean liner for several months of aging at sea. This
