Each candle holder boasts two very detailed cherubs clasping around the candle holder

The plinth shows wear commensurate with age with some small chips to the extremities and light discolouration in areas but overall remains attractive and striking

19th Century Portrait Of A Man With Flagon. Oil On Canvas. SOLD 12 (1869) and NoA 19th century oil on canvas depicting a man leaning against a pillar before a leaded window with a flagon at his feet. The subject looks melancholic, holding his hat to his chest with slumped shoulders and a somewhat defeated standing pose. The leaded window, gothic archway and light streaming from a source to the right indicating a larger window suggests the setting may be within a church. The work has a some craquelure and high gloss varnish
