I have used a palette of soft tones and colours to reflect the subtle light in late afternoon when the sun starts to fade

each viewed from a different angle

I have used a more modern and multi-coloured palette creating an atmospheric and almost 'magical' scene

particularly the beautiful turquoise waves rolling in to the bay

I grew up in this popular and picturesque seaside resort on the Causeway coast in Northern Ireland so its no surprise that it is one of my favourite subjects to paint. I have used a palette of warm colours to reflect the Autumn light at the time and included the natural rocks in the foreground to add balance and interest to the composition.
