Opuntia 'Sunburst' Variegated Mesemb Astrophytum asterias 'Fukuryu' The JapaneseOpuntia 'Sunburst' A nicely variegated prickly pear species. Will continue to make new pads and form a multibranched plant in time. Fortunately this species has only a few glochids (the little spines all Opuntia have) and can generally be handled without getting them stuck in your fingers. Easy to grow. Likes lots of light and well drained soil. Water when nearly dry. Hardy to at least zone 5 (probably zone 4) but make sure to acclimate your plant
