1928 Charles Martin Ink Drawing of Very Stylish Looking Woman! bingo 10 1/2" x 5" xI was reading in the NYT this morning about the closing of Metro Pictures gallery, which became a force in the 1980s showing the "Pictures Generation" artists Cindy Sherman, Louise Lawler, Richard Prince, etc. I've had this drawing sitting around for a bit and for whatever reason it jumped to mind, I think because this woman looks very early 80s to me, and also a bit like a gallerist, and also perhaps more as if drawn from a film still than from life.
