Based of a location that lives within my imagination and fueled by a little autumn inspiration

I was thinking of somewhere along the path of where I had traveled on that trip when painting this piece

Being able to live and work among the bison herds was particularly a special treat for me

I decided to keep the elements in this painting fairly simple

I was inspired to paint this after one very early morning hike this past fall. After a long trek in the dark, I came into this meadow right as the sun peaked over the mountains. The cool season grasses and flowers are a pleasant surprise this time of year. As the sun illuminated the sky at first light, it contrasted the valley floor so perfectly I knew I wanted to capture it. Specifics: 12x16" Original oil
